- Guided seven-step wizard: check, choose backup location, back up and verify, format as exFAT, copy back and verify, report.
- SHA-256 checksum for every file, backup re-read from disk before anything is erased.
- Format step appears only after a fully verified backup, with drive identity check and typed drive name.
- Pause and resume at any step, including recognition of an interrupted format.
- Names that exFAT does not allow are renamed and listed in the report.
- Open-source engine and command-line tool (MIT).
- Signed and notarized, Apple silicon and Intel, macOS 13 or later.
- Known limits: macOS may hide or rename some NTFS file names;
._*files cannot be byte-verified on exFAT; BitLocker and system drives are not supported.
